Guests are met individually and given an escorted tour of their bedroom and the shared facilities
Language and Paperwork
English is used throughout and we can accept, email, handwriting, type.
Paperwork
All paperwork is presented to guests on a clipboard to aid handling.
A paper pad and pen is always to hand for guests who prefer to avoid speech.
Land / Mobile / Cell ‘Phones
All mobile (cellular) phone services can be received in all rooms including EE (T-Mobile, Asda), O2 (Tesco), Vodaphone and 3.
Important or emergency calls can be dialled on behalf of guests on the business landline.
Internet Access, WIFI and Skype
FREE WIFI internet access is available in all rooms. Guest’s PC in the lounge, operating on ‘Windows 7’ with Skype , and Open Office (version 4.1.1) installed. A headset is provided. For hygiene reasons guests may prefer to use their own.
Pictograms
Pictograms are used on: exit routes, portable hearing induction loops, microwave use, breakfast selection, reception / payments and identifying grouped types of visitor information like bus timetables, places to eat, Abingdon attractions and tourism leaflets for the wider region.
Braille
Braille is used on switches in Rooms 1 and 3 and to identify all cereals in breakfast room.
Additional Braille labels can be requested, in advance, as we have a Braille label printer
Raised / Engraved Lettering / Numerals
- House number 136 – engraved into slate on the left car park entrance pillar
- Raised brass numerals on wooden block on left of front door.
- Raised brass numerals on white bedroom doors.
